Wednesday 2nd January 2001
Well......HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope you all had a wonderful time and are well on the way to recovery.
Gigs are now up for the whole of next year (at Woods anyway) so you have something to put in those diaries you got for Christmas. Hopefully more will be forthcoming soon.
Monday 3rd December
A couple of gigs have had to be cancelled because John has a problem with his voice and has been told by the doctor not to sing! These are the gig at Stations and at Camberwell. Sorry for the inconveniance.
Sunday 11th November
OK, a couple of new venues for you to check out. The Windermere in South Kenton (right next to South Kenton Station) and The Goat in Berkhamstead. Please check with the band or venues before travelling.
Monday 10th September
OK, I know it has been absoultly ages since anything has changed on the site but there is now something new!! WOW! Some new gigs in new venues, a great new picture of Chudley and some new links! It never rains..........
Friday 11th May
Sorry about the lack of news recently but there hasn't really been anything to tell you apart from some new gigs and I am sure you all go straight to the gigs page anyway. Anyway there is some news!!
The Non Johns have been asked to play a lunchtime gig at Woods Wine Bar in Borehamwood. This is because it is the guv'nor's birthday and he wants to celebrate. It is on the May Bank Holiday Sunday so there is no worries about having to get up the next morning because I am sure you are all off on the Monday?! Kick off is 3 pm so get there early.
Friday 26th January
I am very sorry to say that the gig tonight at the Fornax and Firkin has had to be cancelled. Sorry for the lateness of this announcement but Jon and Carl both have the flu. A very unhappy Andy has just rung me to tell me so I did my best? I understand that Andy has arranged for a stand in band to cover but this is all dependant on the pub giving this the go ahead. I am still going to be there so if you are going I may see you there. Again sorry for the late cancellation.
Monday 1st January
Well lets start by wishing all of you a Happy New Year. Lets hope it is a good one!
The gigs are continuing to be booked for next year with 4 more being added at Woods. Check out the Gigs page. Also an appology to everyone who came to the Fornax to see the Non Johns on the 29th December only to find another band there. This was due to the pub double booking again and as usual the Non johns were the ones to lose out (Why is it always them?). We only found out at about 8:30pm when John turned up to set up so sorry to everyone who was disappointed.
Saturday 16th December
The 4 Non Johns must be getting soooo popular because they now have got gigs booked until next December!!! See the Gigs page. So if you want to book them for your venue, better get in quick!
Thursday 7th December
Well, here is some top news for you. The 4 Non Johns Web Site has a new address!!! You will still be able to use the old address but now you can use:-
That should be a bit easier to remember! As I said, don't worry....the old address will still work! Enjoy!
Wednesday 6th December
4 new gigs have just been added so go and investigate.....see when you can next go? Also an appology, John and Amanda's son is not called Jordan but Jay. Hope all is OK there!
Sunday 12th November
7 (yes SEVEN) new gigs have been booked and are now on the gigs page!
Sunday 5th November
Yesterday John became a father!! His wife Amanda gave birth to a baby boy who they have named Jordan. Apparently he weighed 6lb 8oz. Congratulations are in order I believe!
Tuesday 24th October
For anyone who hasn't seen the Non Johns for a week or so then you may not be aware that John has had his hair cut! I have yet to see it myself but apparently it is SHORT.
Wednesday 11th October
A couple of new gigs around the Christmas period have now been put on so better get your party trousers on and get down there. See the gigs page.
Also, I have been busy recently and passed my Mototrcycle test yesterday (first time) so that is why there have not been many updates recently. A bizarre coincidence that came out of this was that the guy training me was Paul Johnson who is the rider for Johnson Racing (the team Jon is mechanic for)! How bizarre is that?
Tuesday 26th September
The gig at Tufnell Park must have gone well because they have got another one!! 20th October!! Alas I could not make the last one but all must have gone well.
Monday 18th September
Well, the new venues are appearing thick and fast. Yet another great place for you all to visit. This time it is the Tufnell Park Tavern in (unsurprisingly) Tufnell Park. The "Non Johns" will be on from 10pm until 1am so a late one aswell! Why not go somewhere new?
Thursday 7th September
Another gig has been added at another new venue! The Goat (Scary huh!) in Berkhamstead. Also the band are going to be rehearsing again so new songs will be appearing soon!! Oh and Chudley is back from his holiday in sunny Spain. I wonder if his cardigans got sun burnt?
Sunday 13th August
Chudley hurt his hand during the second set this evening whilst playing at Woods Wine Bar. He seemed quite upset about this and wanted everyone to know. It was just a little blood and it didn't really effect his playing. If you would like to send him a "Get Well Soon" Card or a message via email please do so. Email him at Mchudley@metronet.co.uk. I am sure he will appreciate your sympathies?
Tuesday 1st August
A new gig at a new venue has appeared. It is at The Crown in St. Albans. Haven't got a road yet but if I get one I will put it up. So if you live near buy and haven't seen the Non Johns yet why not check them out?
I have also heard the demo now and it is pretty good. Hopefully I will put up a few tasters on the site soon?
Monday 10th July
A new gig has been added. Finally, after alot of mucking about the 4 Non Johns are finally going to play at the Fornax and Firkin in South Harrow. So I will see you there!!
Monday 3rd July
Well, after a while of no real news the band have finally finished recording their demo. It is as yet untitled so any suggestions may well interest them? At the moment it is just "The 4 non Johns".
Tracks recorded are:-
- Ever fallen in love by The Buzzcocks
- Crazy horses by The Osmonds
- Pulling muscles from a shell by Squeeze
- Basket case by Green Day
- Bartender and the thief (don't know who that is by?)
I have yet to hear it but I am sure it is groovy and I have been promised that as soon as some copies are avaliable I will have one so I will be doing a review as soon as I have heard it. Also if you are really good I may upload some to the web site to give you a teaser?
Wednesday 17th May
A couple of gigs at the Engine at West Drayton have been rearranged.
The gig on the 2nd June has moved to the 24th June and the one on the
5th August has moved to the 4th. I hope that makes sense.
Thursday 4th May
What the hell is going on!! An extremely unhappy Chudley has called
me to say that both the gigs at the Fornax and Firkin are now off. Now
I have to say that I am none too pleased about this either as it is
my local and I was looking forward to walking to the pub to see them.
Apparently they were double booked and somehow the other band has got
the gig. Don't you wish that landlords would keep decent records? More
gigs have been arranged but not until later in the year (October). When
they are confirmed I will post them here. He has asked me to appologise
to anyone wishing to go but it is again beyond the bands control. Sorry!
Sunday 30th April
OK, another gig is unfortunatly off. This is because Andy is getting married and will not be back from his honeymoon. The gig in question is on the 10th June and Woods Wine Bar. Sorry about that.
The gig that was cancelled on the 19th May is now going to feature "Lightning Lenny and the Divebombers" instead so get on down to the Three Horseshoes if you fancy some of that?
Two new gigs at the end of the year at the Three Horseshoes aswell!!
Friday 10th March
The 4 Non Johns are doing a Charity gig at the Red Lion pub in Colindale
NW9 on the 18th March. It is for Cancer and there will be 3 bands on
the bill. The first band have yet to be announced but second on the
bill will be the Bollok Brothers and the 4 Non Johns will be headlining
at about 11pm until 1am! The fun starts at 7pm so why not get there
early? There will be an entrance fee of £5 but with 3 bands and
the pub open until 1am it has to be worth a visit.
Also some new links have been added to the links
page today so why not check them out?
Sunday 13th February
Well, an alternative 4 Non Johns site has appeared. I suppose I had better buck my ideas up hadn't I. Always good to have competition I suppose. You can find it here:- http://www.4-nonjonnies.fsnet.co.uk. Well done to Damian for a top site I say. (Just don't get too good....please!).
Friday 11th February
New comments are now on the fan's page from
Tomm Laffey. A relation of Steve's. He also explains a few things?
Sunday 6th February
You may note (if you visit the gigs page) that the gig at Woods Wine Bar on the 18th March has been moved to the 11th. This is because The Non Johns will be doing a Charity gig on the 18th. More details will follow when I get them.
Also you may like to know that Mark has passed the AutoCAD course he has been doing for the last few months. I suppose that it will mean that Andy won't be getting so many 'How do I do this?' calls now?
Tuesday 1st February 2000
Well, it's here, the new site is now up and running (a bit later than expected?). Any opinions would be welcome. You can mail me at:- Keif@keifnet.com.
Some of the site isn't complete at the moment so please excuse any bad links.
As soon as anything new happens it will appear here on the 'news' page so this page is probably your best place to start each time you visit.
There are about 50 photos for you to look at and more will be appearing soon. If you have any you would like included please mail me at:- Keif@keifnet.com. Just visit the links from the band Page.
